Say that ten times fast!
Daniel and I made these pretty rustic pallet wood boxes last spring for our wedding. They held the most AMAZING flower arrangements a friend of mine designed.
We still have plenty of these beauties laying around our house because I simply will not give up any of them. Tearing apart an old pallet is not easy work and we made about 15 of these. But I adore the look of the wood and the imperfections in each little box. I’ve been going to the library a lot more lately and I needed a spot to put my checked out books to keep track of them and avoid late fees. This one sits under a window sill in our front living room. I enjoy leaving books on display in our home. I think it lets our friends get to know us a little better in a small way. But if I’m being honest, I probably have more magazines than books.
But the book box needed a special little detail. I decided to grab a drawer pull for it at my local craft store. These pulls add just a touch of elegance. I fall for every little rustic/country/shabby/farmhouse thing I see but the style I seek for our home isn’t one of those in particular. I appreciate the freedom to mix and match.
Creating elements that spruce up even the smallest of corners in your home can make your heart soar. At least for me they do.
and since it’s officially springtime, I played around with tossing some faux greens in the box. With this style, the box serves no practical purpose but to be aesthetically pleasing. That’s just fine with me!
In what small ways are you creating your home for springtime?
